For US-based micro-importers & small e-commerce sellers

Know your HTS code and estimated duty — before you ship.

ImportClear is a planned tool to help you find the HTS code and an estimate of the duty stack (MFN + Section 301 forced-labor + Section 232 + Chapter 99 overlays), plus a draft document pack for your broker — in minutes, not a day of cross-referencing spreadsheets.

Pre-launch. US schedule only. You keep the draft; your licensed broker files it.

How it works

01

Describe the product

Paste your supplier's description, or the SKU line from the invoice. ImportClear suggests the chapter & heading — not a marketer description, the actual goods.

02

Get an estimated duty stack

Planned: an estimate of the landed cost based on MFN duty + Section 301 (forced-labor, country-based) + Section 232 + MPF/HMF and Chapter 99 overlays, broken out per line. Estimates are a starting point for your broker, not a binding determination.

03

Draft the doc-pack

Planned: export a draft commercial invoice + packing list with the HS codes, country of origin and values your broker needs — as a starting point, not a finished filing.

04

You confirm, the broker files

You are the legal importer of record. ImportClear aims to give you a well-organized draft — your licensed broker does the final classification, entry and submission.

The problem we exist for

De minimis was suspended in Aug 2025 and stays suspended. Every parcel into the US — regardless of value — now needs a formal or informal entry, an HTS classification and duty payment (the $800 exemption is gone; statutory end comes July 2027).

The old workflow — "just use whatever HS code the supplier wrote" — can lead to overpaying duty or getting flagged, which is why importers end up checking codes more carefully (or paying a broker to do it).

  • 236k+ small US importers (97% of all US importers are under 500 employees — US Chamber/Census)
  • $15–25 per-parcel broker fees estimate, before the duty itself
  • 30% of audited entries have classification errors (industry estimate)
  • 10–25% typical duty swing between nearby HTS codes

Honest answers

Is this a customs broker or legal compliance company?

No. We're a drafting tool for the importer-of-record. You stay accountable for the entry; your licensed broker does the final review, filing and signature. ImportClear never files on your behalf.

Is the HTS guidance legal advice?

No. It's reference information to help you prepare a defensible draft and land on the right questions to ask your broker or a licensed trade attorney. Legal and tariff decisions remain with you and your professionals.

What countries do you cover?

US-first (HTSUS + Chapter 99 + Section 301/232 overlays). EU is on the roadmap; Canada & Mexico and LATAM later if demand says so. Nothing outside the US is live yet.

How much will it cost?

There will be a free tier (a handful of tariff calculations/month) and a paid tier with unlimited SKUs + document packs. Beta members get a locked lifetime-founders rate on the paid tier.
